Great Britain is widely known for its high class and quality, and the cars manufactured in the country are no different. There are numerous British car brands that took the world by storm with their interesting, amazing cars that changed our lives. Nowadays the car industry in GB brings a number of around 1 million cars per year. These British car logos are a symbol of that success.
British car brands pride themselves with some of the best cars on the market, and that is not farfetched. From luxurious cars to economic models, they cover it all. In addition, they have a wide range of customers all over the world, and they changed our lives in a better way.
The roots of British car manufacturing date back to the early 1900’s and many of those companies are still producing cars today in stunning models. Let’s take a look at the story behind some of the logos.
1 – Aston Martin
The winged logo of Aston Martin has been a staple of the company since 1927. The original logo was a inter-weaved “A” and “M” until 1926 at which point the logo was completely redone. Over the 20th century minor adjustments were made to the logo to give it a more contemporary design, but the wings never left.
The most recent change came in 2003 with the launch of the new global Aston Martin headquarters in Gaydon. The latest change represented a step into a new chapter of the illustrious companies career.
2 – Bentley
This luxury car maker was founded by two brothers in 1919. The headquarters of the company is in Crewe, Cheshire, United Kingdom. The logo, known as “Big B” has two wings to showcase the company’s claim that their cars are the closest one can come to having wings of their own.
The logo has black, white, and silver hues that represent purity, elegance, and charm. The silver in particular is supposed to represent the sophistication and creativity of Bentley’s vehicles. The font of the logo utilizes a modified version of the Sans Serif typeface.
3 – Jaguar
The earliest design of the logo came about in 1935 but it wasn’t until 1945 that the iconic “leaping jaguar” logo would be introduced. The company’s in-house advertising agency recently made some minor changes to it. The logo represents speed and power. It is most commonly displayed on the hood of their manufactured vehicles.
4 – McLaren
This car logo adopts the theme of simplicity like so many other brands out there. The company’s name is shown with a red symbol in the upper right-hand corner that represents speed. While it may be simple, the logo has persevered throughout the company’s history as a simple but effective symbol of their success in the field of racing. y
Originally the company competed in F1 races which is why the logo is so focused on speed. Now that you’ve seen these British car logos, the only thing left to do is look more into the cars that they make so you can see how their creativity shine through.
